Animas Surgical Hospital is on Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of 197 top hospitals for physician communication, one of only two Colorado hospitals recognized.
The list highlights hospitals that received five stars for physician communication in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ patient experience survey ratings. Patients were asked how often their doctors listened carefully, explained things in ways they could understand, and treated them with courtesy and respect.
For patients, those conversations matter. Having time to ask questions and understand the answers helps people feel more comfortable and involved in decisions about their health.
That connection is central to our mission at Animas: improving quality of life through personalized, collaborative care. It starts with understanding each patient’s concerns, needs, and goals, then working together on their care.

Becker’s published the recognition on October 14, 2026, using CMS ratings released in August. The ratings reflect patient surveys collected from October 2024 through September 2025.
