Cameron Clarke, MD

Cameron L. Clarke, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained glaucoma and cataract surgeon with Southwest Eye Consultants. Dr. Clarke is recognized by the American Glaucoma Society (AGS) as an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. He provides advanced, technology-driven care using the latest innovations in glaucoma management, including Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT), Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), sustained-release medication implants, cyclophotocoagulation (CPC), and traditional incisional glaucoma procedures. Dr. Clarke also specializes in complex cataract surgery, including the use of multifocal and toric intraocular lenses. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Originally from southern Utah, Dr. Clarke earned a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience with a minor in chemistry from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He completed his medical training at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of his compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. He remained in Texas to complete an internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.

Dr. Clarke pursued advanced fellowship training in glaucoma surgery under world-renowned glaucoma specialists in El Paso, Texas. Throughout his training, he was actively involved in clinical research, presenting at national ophthalmology meetings including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). He has also published as a first author in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Ophthalmology and the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (JCRS).

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Clarke enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and their Bernedoodle. His favorite activities include backpacking, mountain biking, and trail running.
