Your neighborhood hospital
Founded in 2004, Animas Surgical Hospital has been an integral part of the Four Corners region for more than two decades. Our hospital employs highly skilled, long-term local residents who are deeply invested in the community. Each year, our payroll and benefits contribute approximately $7 million to the local economy.
Designed for patients by physicians
Animas Surgical Hospital was founded by local physicians to bring specialty and hospital-based care closer to home. Our goal has never been to be the only hospital in Durango, but to be the best option for surgery, diagnostic imaging, emergency care, occupational medicine, and internal medicine.
Our outcomes speak for themselves. With low patient-to-nurse ratios, a near-zero infection rate, and a manageable hospital size, patients receive safer, more personalized care. Our physicians and staff value the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives every day.
Local commitment
Our physician owners live and work in the Four Corners. They are your neighbors, invested in improving access, efficiency, and outcomes for our shared community. Their hands-on involvement supports faster scheduling, modern equipment, and smoother recoveries.
Choice is good
Research shows that communities with multiple hospital options experience higher overall quality of care. At Animas Surgical Hospital, we support your right to choose your physician, your treatment options, and your hospital.
