Jacob Wilkerson, MD

Jacob Wilkerson, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee care at Animas Orthopedic Associates in Durango, Colorado. He provides advanced treatment for hip and knee pain, including robotic-assisted joint replacement, minimally invasive procedures, arthroplasty, and orthopedic trauma care, helping patients return to active, pain-free lives.

Dr. Wilkerson completed a prestigious Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida, where he gained advanced expertise in robotic knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, and complex revision hip and knee surgery. His clinical focus combines leading-edge surgical techniques with patient-centered care.

Originally from the Houston area, Dr. Wilkerson earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from The University of Texas McGovern Medical School. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he trained at Harborview Medical Center under internationally recognized leaders in orthopedic trauma surgery.

Dr. Wilkerson is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Western Orthopaedic Association.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Wilkerson enjoys spending time with his wife, Sara, and his young children. His interests include fly fishing, skiing, cooking, golf, watching the Houston Astros and Texas A&M Aggies, and exploring the outdoors. He and his family are proud to call the Four Corners region home.
