Surgery & Procedures
If you and your physician determine that surgery or another type of procedure is necessary, our staff will contact you to schedule a convenient time for your hospital visit. After your surgery or procedure is scheduled, a nurse will contact you to discuss your medical history, medication program and your medical needs. All information is held strictly confidential.
Your physician may determine that you require additional tests before your procedure such as lab tests, radiological services, or other tests such as an electrocardiogram.
Questions
What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient surgery?
Today, approximately 85% of surgical patients go home the same day of their procedure, while 15% remain in the hospital during recovery. You may spend one or more nights in our comfortable, private, inpatient suites.
What types of procedures are usually considered outpatient surgeries?
Typical outpatient procedures include arthroscopies, cataract removal, carpal tunnel release, many plastic surgery procedures, tonsillectomies, and kidney stone removal.
What types of procedures are usually considered inpatient surgeries?
Typical inpatient procedures include total knee and hip replacement, hysterectomies, prostate surgery and procedures requiring advanced pain management.
